Guidelines for the Canadian Immigration Process

Guidelines for the Canadian Immigration Process

Note this process has been transcribed from a video on youtube posted by Abid Khan on his Facebook profile. More detailed discussion and guidelines can be found on the video link given below.

Provincial Nomination/ Federal Nomination:
Canada has 10 Provinces and 3 territories, every province has a separate offer along with the federal one. The steps to follow for Canadian immigration are as follows:
1. Calculate your Score using CRS calculator
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
It needs your basic details as input and will calculate the points
The cutoff criteria for the federal invitation is normally in a range of 450-470 which is very high
2. Take IELTS Exam
IELTS (General Training) is a must requirement, if you have not passed the IELTS exam, you are not eligible to apply for express entry. There is an online tutor on youtube with the name Jay, his videos are really good for IELTS preparation.
Canda has its own evaluation of IELTS which is CLV Level-9 that is:
Listening=8
Reading=7
Writing=7
Speaking=7
If you have this score then you are eligible to apply for the express entry, if you have a greater score than your overall points in the ranking system will be increased.
For creating the profile and degree evaluation, IELTS is a must
3. Evaluate Your Degrees
You need to attest your highest level of qualification. Canada has 4 to 5 authorized evaluation agencies including World Education Services, ICAS, IQAS). It s a personal choice to go with any agency. World Education Service takes around 20 days and is the fastest one. Charges (WES BS Degree=285 Canadian Dollar=33000 PKR)
4. Create an online Express Entry Profile
This is an online profile that is as simple as you fill up a form it will create your entry in a pool of the individuals that are applying for immigration. The Canadian government selects individuals from this pool at specific intervals; for federal immigration, you must have a minimum score of around 450. Sometimes you have a lower score but the province nominates you like the score for provinces is usually lower than the federal immigration score.
When you make a profile there is an option to go to specifically some province, you can separately select a province, and when the province announces its selected candidates' list, you can be on their list. A piece of advice here is that you must select all the provinces, there is no harm.
Now you do not need to make a separate province profile in the express entry, its criteria are that every province has a shortage of capable professionals some provinces have a shortage of individuals if you have 400 scores and you are in Shortage Occupation List of a province then you have a chance.
I recommend you should select all the provinces. You should have no issue so that some of the provinces can nominate, you can change your province in the future when you arrive in Canada.
Shortage Occupation List
It's not obvious that you will be selected but there is a high chance. First of all, you need to check a Shortage Occupation List. My score was 439 so, I was not selected for the Federal express entry and later this score went up to 470. If some province selects you, then you have to submit the application in the hard form which is a very long list. You have to submit all documents that you mentioned on the express entry form in hard form. You need to courier the documents to the given address given.
Experience Letter Tips
There are some guidelines when you prepare your experience letter. First of all, you should have a minimum three-year experience when you are creating the online profile, you must have at least three-year experiences otherwise your application will not be accepted. In the experience letter, you should write the responsibilities that are mentioned on the Shortage Occupancy List. You should not copy-paste directly from the Shortage Occupancy List. You should consult the occupancy shortage list and then carefully make the experience letter and mention your job description accordingly. You should make sure that your job responsibilities comply with the responsibilities mentioned by the Canadian government on the Shortage Occupancy List.
When I get the Alberta nomination, the federal immigration score went to 472, I have also seen federal cutoff criteria around 484, and for the province of Alberta, it was 333. The score for provinces remains in the 300 range and federal is above 400. The occupation that is high in demand should be selected. One should check the score and check whether he can improve his score.
IELTS score can be improved if you see CRS tool and change the IELTS score only 0.5, it will have a great impact on the overall score. With a Bachelor's degree, the maximum you get the score is around 425. You should do a 1-year post-graduate diploma from an institution that is recognized by Canada. It will increase 30-35 points, the one-year diploma has great worth. If you have done a Ph.D. then you will earn 50-54 points.
Age Requirements
If your age is greater than 30 your points will be decreased by 5 every year.
If you have a Ph.D. and your age is 34 then you are good to go. A good age with a bachelor is 29 with a master's degree or a post-graduate diploma and 3 years of experience.
Degree Evaluation Process
Degree Evaluation is a process Matric Mark Sheet-board attestation in a sealed envelope, FSC, Diploma-board attestation and gives you in a sealed Envelop, HEC will attest and give you in a sealed envelop. Then the package should be transferred to WES. Only the copies have attested no need to attest originals.
5. Invitation to Apply
If your points are according to the range, then your name will be automatically shortlisted and you will receive a letter of invitation to apply to the ISCC account.
You have to provide proof of all the information in the online account including all documents in scanned form.
Criminal History which is called a police character certificate should be uploaded. The medical test is conducted and its certificate is uploaded. Similarly other forms
Bank Statement Requirements
Bank statement if a person is single 130000 Canadian dollars should be in his account. If a person is applying with family, then he should have 23000 Canadian dollars in his account. You should check online for the payment details, as they change with time.
6. Biometrics and Passport Submission
After this process, you have to wait, it takes around 2 months. Once you get the invitation to apply then usually 80% of the work is done. After you apply and upload the documents around 10% more of the process is done.
After this they will invite you for biometrics in the embassy so, you need to go to the embassy to provide your biometrics and submit your passport.
When you have the invitation to apply you have to pay a fee, 2300 Canadian dollars for a family immigration process but depends on your family members.
Atlantics Immigration Program
You should also check the Atlanta immigration program that is valid for 2021, their IELTS requirement is low and relaxed age requirements but for this, you need to have a job offer. 4 islands Nova scotia, new land, new Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, they have given the list of employers that are authorized to get people from outside. For Atlantic immigration, you need to have a valid job offer, however, it is slightly difficult. This is for people who are greater than 40 years of age.
