My Experience Publishing with IEEE Internet of Things Journal

Recently, I have published an article with the IEEE, Internet of Things Journal. For the article submission in this journal, the author needs to create a submission account. The link is given in the following.

After the initial submission, all the correspondence will be handled by the corresponding author. As my supervisor was the corresponding author, he used to notify me of any email that is received from the journal.

My paper took three revisions until the final acceptance. Once the article is accepted, the IEEE copyright form is uploaded on the IEEE IoTJ submission system. This form can be filled by the submitting author. Once the copyright form is submitted, the author's copy of the manuscript will be online after a couple of days.

The next correspondence is handled by the IEEE gateway account which handles the production process. The IEEE production team emails the link and user credentials to log-in to the IEEE Gateway account if the user has an IEEE account. However, access to the final proofreading can only be performed by the corresponding author.  Therefore, it is necessary to keep in close touch with the corresponding author to be updated regularly. IEEE Author gateway link is given below if you are not the corresponding author you can still view the manuscript.

On the IEEE Author Gateway Dashboard, the production team will upload the document with Author Queries that are necessary to respond along with additional proofreading. The manuscript will also be visible there where you can access the manuscript in the publishing form having all the borders, headers, footers, page numbering, referencing and citations in the IoTJ format,  and other relevant information. So it will be easy to view your manuscript and analyze any changes to make.  The status of the paper on Author Gateway after submission proofreasds.

Additional Guidelines

  1. The author's information given in the First Footnote must be aligned with the affiliation given in the biography.
  2. The biography pictures should be in good quality otherwise the production office will ask for better quality pictures.
  3. The First Footnote must contain the postal code of the affiliation of the authors.
  4. The biographies must contain the information regarding the last degree institute and year of the author.

i will update this blog as any other information comes in my mind. I hope this will be helpful.
