Painful Luxuries: Stop Single-Use Plastic

I was traveling from shanghai Pudong airport to the London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic airline in the economy class in August 2019. As expected, the staff was hospitable and welcoming. I ordered Mulsim meal while booking the ticket so the air hostess always used to serve me first before the other passengers. With every meal, there was something to drink like juice, plain water. The cutlery was always new with a spoon, fork, glass, and the meal box. The glass which I drink was only used for once and was dumped in the flexible basked in front of the seat which couldn't hold enough things so I used to pinch the glass to dumb in the basket. It was a kind of privilege to be treated like this.
Further, when I stayed in a hotel in London where every day the staff provided me with new disposable plastic utensils.
However in a world when we are worried about the massive plastic pollution, hotels and airlines are one of the simple examples where it has been used as a luxury. How could it be possible to realistically devise new ways for the treatment of the guests? The business associated with travel uses the disposables as a lavish treatment however, when the waste is added up in the environmental ecosystem, it contributes a huge amount in pollution. A cost-benefit analysis should be performed according to the environment prior to using such stuff. In a world of uneven allocation of wealth, a small amount of the population is responsible for spoiling the natural ecosystems for the whole world. Single-use plastic should be banned in order to lower down the plastic pollution level in the world.
