Biography

Wajid Rafique received the M.S. degree in software engineering from the National University of Sciences & Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, in 2020. He is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Wireless Communication Laboratory of the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering, University of Calgary, Canada. He is currently leading a teach of researchers working on the Beyond 5G Network Slicing for Smart Cities Applications. This project is funded by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). From March 2021 to June 2022, he worked with the Network Research Laboratory, Department of Computer Science and Operations Research, University of Montreal, Canada. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Montreal, he worked on Complementing IoT Services Using SD-ICN project funded by Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT). He has worked on different cybersecurity projects in collaboration with the Victoria University, Australia, North Dakota State University, USA, and Qatar University, Qatar. His research interests include wireless communication, SDN/NFV, network slicing, IoT services, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
